How To Win 2015

Let’s take a second to pause and reflect on 2014.  I’m not sure what your year held for you but for me I had a pretty good year. The Tao of Indifference is 2 years old, the podcast is approaching it’s 1 year mark, towards the end of the year I got back to blogging (and podcasting) on a more regular basis.

More importantly, I managed to spend a full year NOT online dating. You’ll notice that my content moved away from solely Online Dating advice and more toward dating, relationship and life advice.  What can I say, being in a relationship for an entire calendar year (plus some) has changed my outlook a bit.

So what was your year like? Do you think you succeeded? Do you count 2014 as a Win?

So what does winning mean to you? Is it better pay, a better love life, a change in career, marriage, kids, or just owning more things?

If you think Winning is the accumulation of material things, winning will get harder for you very year.

If you think Winning is about things you can’t measure: The strength of your relationships, your connections to friends, your own self-worth, well then I can teach you how to win 2015.

For starters, lets be clear. The beginning of the new year is only the demarcation of time. I don’t think that the beginning of the new year is some mystical event. It’s a symbol. But symbols have power. If you’re one of those “It’s just another day or year” types that’s cool just think of it as your guide to doing better at any point in your life.

Let’s talk about how to win in the new year by focusing on Your Love Life, Your Relationships, and Your Opinion of Self.

Your Love Life

Chances are if you’re reading this, you came here for dating advice. I’ve written enough posts to cover just about every aspect of dating that I could think of, but I’d like to go over some of the best advice on dating to work on for 2015.

When it comes to dating, no matter how much work you put into how attractive you are, how desirable you may be, or how good you become at all the little things that make people want to talk to you and go on dates with you, no one is going to hand you the perfect person for you.

In order to be successful in your love life  remember that it takes hard work.

So how do you go about working on your love life?

Learn to Accept Rejection. If you’re not dwelling on the past you’re more likely to move forward

Learn how to make yourself more attractive by becoming more confident. Usually it’s just as simple as smiling more and making eye-contact (trust me)

Realize that you might suck at dating and work to correct it. We all sucked at dating at one point in our lives, doesn’t mean you have to be bad at it forever.

Learn to plan awesome dates. Good dates can just happen, but sometimes you have to make them happen.

Your Relationships

Working on your relationships does not have to be limited to your romantic relationships but it definitely doesn’t hurt to work on them. I’ll admit, I’m relatively new to relationships but what I’ve learned is this: It’s all about Connections, Contentment, and Cravings and learning to Listen, Encourage and Compliment. Communication is of course the foundation for all healthy relationships but if it comes to it, you should also learn how to survive a breakup.

Your Opinion of Self

I’ve always believed that your self-esteem is your own, but if you truly want to work on yourself, you should use the dating survival toolkit I’ve written.  Remember, learning to be content and truly appreciate yourself takes work, not just words.

If you take nothing else from this, just know that you’re enough. You’re good enough. Whoever you are, wherever you are, just know that the person you are today is just fine and just stay committed to continuous self improvement.

I wish you a  very happy new year and as always, Good Luck Out There.
